Bottle Barn is thrilled to present our first custom Pechuga mezcal from locally-owned La Luna Mezcal. This is a mezcal that experienced distillers reserve making for very special occasions and traditionally involves the cooking of a bird in the still, along with seasonal fruits and spices. This produces a rich, complex mezcal worthy of any special gathering or celebration, as well as savoring for oneself. It will age in the bottle beautifully, in the tradition called "madurado en vidrio" (aged in glass).

This reserve pechuga mezcal features the three agave ensamble from our select batch, Bruto, Espadincillo and Azul, and for the cooked fowl we chose goose as they reside on the property in Michoacan. The botanicals are epazote, a Mexican herb with flavors of citrus, mint and oregano; avocado pit for creaminess; avocado leaf for nuttiness and depth; and Tejocote crabapple for sweetness and astringency.

Smooth, complex and delicious- this mezcal embodies centuries of traditional techniques and flavors of Mexico. Earth, citrus, herb and a deep richness pervade this special beverage. Only 50 liters were produced.
